Ethics Code 2.0 for RBTs
The situations that actually come up in-session — boundaries, reporting, and what to do when something feels off — walked through in plain terms.
RBT recertification changed. Twelve PDUs are now required every two years — and they have to come from content built for RBTs, not repurposed BCBA slides. This is that content: practical, plain-spoken, and built by ABA Actionables.
You used to renew with a competency assessment. Now it's 12 Professional Development Units every two years — and most people don't find out how specific the requirement is until they're staring down a renewal deadline.
Here's the part that trips people up: Continuing Education (CE) is for BCBAs and BCaBAs. Professional Development (PD) is for RBTs. They're separate BACB designations — a CE-labeled course, even from your own supervisor, doesn't count toward your PDUs. It has to be built and labeled for RBTs specifically.
Sitting in on a BCBA's CE training. A supervisor's talk that isn't formally logged as PD. Old-format article-plus-quiz courses.
Video-based, RBT-specific training from a BACB-Authorized ACE Provider — documented, timed, and tied to the RBT Task List or Ethics Code.
A lot of continuing ed exists to check a box. That's not the point here. ABA Actionables is already a BACB-Authorized ACE Provider — the same authorization that covers PD content for RBTs — and every session is built the way the rest of this practice is built: plain-spoken, honest about what the job actually looks like, and designed so you leave with something you can use in your next session, not just a certificate.
Each session is video-based with a built-in assessment, sized in clean 25- or 50-minute blocks so your PDUs are easy to track. Topics are still being finalized — this is the current lineup:
The situations that actually come up in-session — boundaries, reporting, and what to do when something feels off — walked through in plain terms.
Cleaner data, faster — how to catch trends in the moment instead of realizing something's off three weeks later.
What to actually do in the hard moment — practical de-escalation and replacement-behavior tactics, not just theory.
How to bring real questions to supervision, ask for what you need, and use feedback without dreading it.
Beyond the basics of the 40-hour training — shaping, prompting fade strategies, and generalization that sticks.
Tell us what's actually hard about your week. The list above is a starting point, not the whole plan.
Send a topic idea →ABA Actionables is a behavior-analytic practice built on one idea: clinicians and RBTs aren't under-qualified, they're under-equipped. That's the same philosophy behind every parent resource, every CEU, and now every PD session — real tools for the actual job, delivered without the hamster-wheel feeling most continuing ed leaves you with.
Same standard as everything else here, just built for a new audience — RBT professional development that changes what you do on your next shift.
These sessions are in production now. Join the list and you'll be the first to hear when the first PDU-eligible sessions are ready — no spam, just a heads-up.
